We’d love to hear your feedback…
Our purpose is deeply rooted in nature. Butterflies are sensitive indicators of the health of our environment. Scientific studies have proven the correlation between the presence of butterflies and healthy air. Air pollution obscures the smell of flowers, making it much harder for pollinators to find them. Therefore, when butterflies are present it’s a sign of clean, healthy air.
Researchers are beginning to understand how air pollution can affect the brain and the mind.
A recent report released by Imperial College London highlighted the lifelong impact of air pollution. It may look like the air is empty, but that's far from the truth. 1 m³ of air weighs 1.2kg and contains 1 trillion molecules and atoms. If the concentrations of gases and particles in this mixture of air is not right then it can really affect our health, wellbeing and cognitive ability. So it's important to have accurate information that can help us make good decisions.
We wanted more than just a grey box on the wall.
Butterfly is different. Intuitive, elegant and made with sustainable materials. Naturally smart!
The PureAIr algorithm will personalise your Butterfly app experience through the application of latest AI technologies.
Morpho measures:
Inspired by the butterfly with striking blue wings.
When air quality changes, Morpho will alter colour from blue (good) to green (moderate) to amber (attention) - this is our gloWING interface and you can open the Butterfly app to find out what is causing the change and get tips on what you can do about it.
Antenna measures:
Inspired by butterflies using their antennae to detect chemicals.
When air quality is poor, Antenna will show the values on its latest technology e-ink display. It will report values in real-time and change colour of a single LED. You can check the online dashboard to find out what is causing the change and get tips on what you can do about it.
Chrysalis’ purpose:
Inspired by butterflies using their antennae to detect chemicals.
Chrysalis is the hub of our system, constantly gathering data from Morpho, Antenna and Sapho across your building. Securely sending to the butterfly dashboard independently of your digital infrastructure via WiFi, Ethernet, LoRaWAN and 4G LTE.
Sapho measures:
Inspired by the butterfly with the excellent memory.
When air quality changes, Sapho will alter colour from blue (good) to green (moderate) to amber (attention) - this is our gloWING interface and you can open the Butterfly app to find out what is causing the change and get tips on what you can do about it.
Meet the gloWING Interface
Colour is one of the best ways to communicate. We have engineered our Butterfly wings to glow in evocative colours which change to indicate indoor air quality at any time.
Butterfly is the right tool to ensure you are accurately informed to make better decisions about the quality of air in your space. Your Butterfly air companion.
Protect your loved ones. By having access to data on indoor air quality, you can identify potential health risks and take appropriate measures to protect yourself and your loved ones. With the help of the Butterfly App, you can analyse the trends in your space, allowing you to identify patterns that may have long-term health effects.
Personalised tips. The more you engage with your Butterfly, the more you’ll receive personalised suggestions and useful information on your indoor air quality (IAQ). This will include valuable insights about the air you breathe every day, helping you become more aware of potential pollutants. As a result, your understanding of the factors that may be affecting your indoor environment will continue to expand.
Timely decisions. Butterfly's real-time data will promptly help you detect sudden changes and take immediate, appropriate actions. With this information at hand, you will be able to make informed decisions on how to optimize your space. This could involve strategically adjusting ventilation, maintaining suitable humidity levels, or making changes to your cleaning habits and lifestyle as necessary.
Super-power your home. When the app is connected to smart assistants like Alexa, you gain greater control over other IoT devices such as dehumidifiers, air conditioners, and heaters. This allows you to optimize your indoor air quality (IAQ) while minimizing your energy bills.
Data from deployed IAQ devices can be accessed via our API, documentation can be found here.
We reimagined the way air navigates through the sensing chamber — LaminAIRTM Flow technology ensures Butterfly devices consistently update all key IAQ measurements to meet the latest international WELL V2 standards for air safety.
We are committed to the use of sustainable materials. From product to packaging.
In collaboration with Fortum, we have developed a special butterfly tailored product made from post-consumer plastic waste. The impact of using this tactile material significantly lowers our carbon footprint.
We have thought carefully about maintenance, reliability of sensors, engineering and battery efficiency so that we can ensure our products last.
